Kate & Jason Blundell make a powerhouse team when it comes to creating unforgettable premium marquee event and wedding experiences.
Both experts in their fields, it was an easy decision to purchase Silk Estate from previous owner, Toni May, when the business came up for sale in 2022.
Kate is a career event and hospitality professional, with an extensive background in food and beverage operations, event design and delivery, and as a tertiary educator in the fields of human resource management, leadership, and business strategy in Hospitality and Tourism.
A seasoned business owner, Kate founded event business Collective Concepts in 2007, specialising in the design and delivery of corporate events, bespoke weddings and unique hospitality experiences. Alongside Collective Concepts stable of clients, the team now proudly offer inhouse management and on the day delivery of Silk Estate client experiences.
Jason has transferred his 25 year career on the building site to constructing our premium NZ made marquees with ease.
With an incredible eye for detail and unwavering commitment to safety and best practice, Jason draws on his experience as a Licensed Building Practitioner and Apex Accredited Marquee Rigger to build our marquees to comply with the NZ Building Code and with the practical yet creative edge needed to ensure your marquee event experience is remembered for all the right reasons.

Our aim as Silk Estate is to create unforgettable experiences which provide the ease to enjoy your event with your guests. This includes everything from designing your complete experience where we plan all your logistics, creative elements, and guest journey, engage your supplier dream team, set and style your marquee and outdoor spaces, coordinate all the details on the day, and bring in our exceptional onsite team to assist with hosting your guests and providing professional service of your beverages.
